The Affliction V2 core is the strongest symmetrical core MOTIV has ever unleashed. This fast-spinning, low-RG powerhouse grips the mid-lane in its talons, giving you the control you crave. With a high differential of .055, the Raptor Rush provides incredible flare potential. While some bowlers chase asymmetrical balls for heavy oil, the symmetrical core of the Raptor Rush offers versatility and the incredible continuation synonymous with symmetrical cores.

Meet the Propulsion FYJ Pearl Reactive cover—MOTIV’s fastest, most aggressive pearl cover ever created. When MOTIV first started crafting bowling balls, cores were old news, but coverstocks? That was uncharted territory. In 2009, we unleashed the GT1, our first pearl coverstock. Fifteen years later, after countless trials and relentless innovation, we’ve perfected it. The Propulsion FYJ (Fifteen Year Journey) coverstock is the pinnacle of our efforts, delivering a combination of strength and angularity that’s nothing short of extraordinary.

When to Use

Speed Dominant: Many speed dominant bowlers struggle to use pearl coverstocks.  Pearl covers are known for getting down lane easily, which can be a problem for bowlers who generate great speed or possess a lower rev rate.  The fast-revving Affliction V2 core is a great start for speed dominant bowlers due to the low rg and high differential.  Combining the Propulsion FYJ with the low rg beast Affliction V2 core is ideal for speed dominant bowlers who want to be able to use a pearl.  When other bowlers are using high rg pearls to create angle, speed dominant players will be able to use the Raptor Rush to create that shape due to the incredibly strong pearl cover and Affliction V2 core.

Balanced: Sometimes balanced bowlers struggle to keep up with the transition and angle used by the highest rev rates in the building. A ball that gives the tweeners a chance to keep up with the crankers is a special and necessary part of the arsenal.  The Raptor Rush is exactly the ball these inbetween bowlers will want to create angle and keep up with the higher rev rates across the lane. 

Rev Dominant: For bowlers with the most rev rate and/or the lowest ball speed, the Raptor Rush will be the first pearl out of your bag. That first pearl out of the bag is an important one as it must provide some traction and significant strength, but still offer angle down lane.  The Raptor Rush is the go-to for a first pearl out of the bag for rev dominant bowlers.

    Building off the success of our pearls over the last couple years as well as a coming to fruition of all of the R&D that Motiv has done in the last 15 years since our first pearl coverstock release, the Raptor Rush is the perfect culmination of control and downlane speed that bowlers of all styles look for out of a heavy oil symmetric pearl. This will be a higher hook potential pearl than the Nuclear Forge while providing more control than balls like the Supra GT and Hyper Venom. You can see the core take over in the midlane and allow this monster to build momentum and absolutely launch itself off of friction downlane. If your bag is needing a heavy oil symmetric pearl, look no further!

    The core is wrapped in our fastest most aggressive cover, Propulsion FYJ (fifteen year Journey) pearl.

    The Rush sees the midlane and creates a controllable motion throughout the lane

    If you are looking for a ball during transition that will still create a controllable motion downlane then look to the Raptor Rush

    Raptor Rush Ball Review

    The Raptor Rush is the newest ball added to the Raptor line. It has the Propulsion FYJ Pearl Reactive cover that gives you strength and speed. It’s designed for heavy oil patterns and made for when the lanes open up but still a good amount of volume. The Raptor Rush has the Affliction V2 Symmetric core. The Raptor Rush creates a very strong angular motion and is great for opening patterns especially when the pattern calls for a stronger piece but the fronts are getting chewed up. This ball should fit the spot of the strongest pearl in most bags of most arsenals. Designed for heavy oil conditions, the Raptor Rush is going to be a piece to add for anyone looking for something when the Jackals stand up to quick and need something better to use left to right. This piece is going to be very exciting and a lot of fun to throw.

    Flying off the Back!

    This is the first ball in the Raptor series I've ever thrown and WOW! First of all, the gold color is gorgeous and the brown and black logos really pop on the ball.

    Secondly, on the lanes, it drives through the pins! We drilled it to have more backend snap-- the pin is just above my middle finger and does it deliver! This ball really rewards executing a good shot with 10 straight back, but that Affliction V2 core also makes slightly off hits create a nice mixer that usually strikes.

    Huge fan of this piece! Absolutely love it.
