Introducing the Black Venom™, a bold upgrade to the already incredible Venom™ line. This uncompromising new addition features the latest Leverage™ cover technology from the Jackal Ambush, modified for maximum performance on moderate oil volume.  Pairing this new Leverage™ MFS Solid Reactive cover with the Gear™ APG core creates earlier read and unstoppable traction when attacking light-medium oil lane conditions.

The cover stock on the Venom™ Shock has been the gold standard for benchmark performance since its release nine years ago.  As oil volumes have increased over time, the Venom™ Shock appears more angular, so it’s time to take things to the next level.  Upgrading to Leverage MFS technology means the Black Venom has more bite and a smoother motion on the lane, giving you the upper hand when maximum traction is what you need.

At the core of the Black Venom you’ll find the Gear™ APG.  Originally developed to overcome the loss of weight holes in sanctioned play, it’s a uniquely low RG / low differential asymmetric core that delivers performance beyond its price point.  With versatile drilling options, you can create many shapes on the lane with just this one Gear APG core. 

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers - For bowlers who have always wanted a Venom™, but the previous releases have been too weak or condition specific, the Black Venom™ is ideal. The Black Venom™ is a modern adaptation of the original Venom™ Shock, meaning that it is now stronger and smoother. This should make the Black Venom™ the perfect Venom™ for people too speed dominant for its predecessors.
  • Balanced Bowlers - Bowlers with balanced speed to rev rate ratios will find incredible versatility from the Black Venom™. As in the Venom™ Shock, the real magic in the Black Venom™ is the ability to use it on a multitude of conditions and from shallow to steep angles.
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers - The Black Venom™ is the ideal benchmark ball for a rev dominant bowler. All bowlers need a ball to use as a lane reader that is right in the middle of their arsenal and can be used on most conditions. The moderate strength Leverage™ MFS Solid Reactive paired with such a low differential (.036) in the Gear™ APG is perfect for Rev Dominant bowlers.

    This ball is incredibly versatile on most house shots. It’s smooth and predictable with a strong finish. I use it all the time.

    Another great ball in the Venom series

    Bought this ball for my wife, as her old ball was beat. She is a league bowler as well. She is pretty much a down, and in type of player. She took to this ball right away, and quickly developed a consistent hook with power through the pins. She came home feeling really good about the change. Point being? This ball develops confidence rapidly. I would likely have one if I didn't already have the Lethal Venom, and the Venom Shock.

    Smooth but deadly

    The Venom Black is a great benchmark ball with a smooth roll but deadly strike through the pins. It takes surface changes very well. Even though it's an angular shape, it's very subtle.
    I paired my Venom Black with a Jackal Ghost, Revolt Uprising Limited Edition, and Top Thrill Hybrid for a well rounded arsenal.

    Black Venom

    I find the black to be the ball during transition during league play, sometimes I can stay in this ball to complete league competition. Always dependable to kick out the corner with right speed and angle.
