At the heart of the Primal Rage Evolution is the Impulse V2 core. This is the same core that dominated in the original Primal Rage and Primal Shock. The dual-density, high-RG design creates insane energy retention, giving you explosive power down-lane. With a differential of .050, you’re looking at over five inches of flare potential, plus endless drilling options to fine-tune your setup. This core delivers heat when it matters most.

Wrapped around the Impulse V2 core is the new Propulsion FYJ coverstock recently introduced on the Raptor Rush.  The Propulsion FYJ (Fifteen Year Journey) pearl cover is the pinnacle of fifteen years of pearl research and development.  This is the strongest, most angular shell we’ve ever created - delivering a combination of strength and angularity that’s nothing short of extraordinary.  When combined with the Impulse V2 core, the Primal Rage Evolution delivers power and angularity at astounding levels.

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers - The Primal Rage was always a popular choice for angle by speed dominant bowlers because of the dynamic Impulse V2 core.  The slower revving 2.55 rg is great for getting the ball through the front while the .050 diff and massive dual density puck produce wild down lane motion.  The Primal Rage Evolution is resurrecting this motion for speed dominant bowlers looking to create angle when the more rev dominant players are all forced into cleaner and more angular options.
     
  • Balanced Bowlers - For bowlers with rev rates that match their ball speed, the Primal Rage Evolution is the go-to pearl.  The Primal Rage Evolution is a medium oil symmetrical pearl, meaning it will be the most versatile and most often used for many balanced bowlers.
     
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers - Bowlers with substantial rev rates often rely heavily on balls that get through the front of the lane easily, providing enough length when their rev dominance makes so many balls too strong, early, or forward.  The Primal Rage Evolution will give rev dominant bowlers the length they need with a dynamic down lane pop.

    This ball has been amazing from the get-go. Very controllable. Predictable movement on the lanes. Already a couple of honor scores with it.

    The latest entry in the Primal Line brings back an old favorite with the Rage and it's evolving.

    On a normal league night, this is easily my 1st ball out of the bag. It's clean thru the front but still has a rolly type finish. Make no mistake, it flips and turns but not in a traditional skid snap fashion which means I can stay in it longer than some other pieces. I went with a 5in Pin to Pap Layout that has the pin a couple inches above my ring finger.

    WOW is all I can say.

    I did not have the opportunity to throw the OG Primal Rage so I don't know how this compares. But this ball is fun it is pretty predictable for me. On an oily night the ball falls in line for me EXJ, Primal Shock then Primal Rage. On drier nights this ball is a monster and works right out of the gate. First night out of the Box I threw this for 767 which is top 3 series for me. I have not repeated that performance but that is not the ball that is the bowler lol. I really love how this ball reads and keeps going.

    The Legend Returns

    If you have bowled with Motiv equipment before, you know the #redball and the legacy is created.
    It now returns, evolved to dominate the modern conditions of today's game.
    If you need something clean and devastatingly angular, this is the ball to go to.
    I really think this is going to be a game changer for rev dominant and heavy rolling bowlers. The Primal Rage Evo is going to give them great length on the lanes they normal struggle to see, without sacrificing overall power or dowlane continuation.

    Comparing New & Original Primal Rages

    I’m a Motiv Regional Staff member; Right-handed/1-hand above average speed/rev rate.

    The original Primal Rage is/was my ALL-TIME favorite bowling ball from any brand! Prior to joining Motiv Staff 8 years ago, I had multiple Primal Rages in my bag at the time. To this day, I still carry an original in my tournament bag and use it regularly.

    When I learned of the new Primal Rage Evolution, I was ecstatic. The nostalgia is phenomenal, but the updated ball reaction for today’s game is incredible. The original Primal Rage creates much earlier friction and is overall smoother in today’s game.

    The new coverstock technology on the Primal Rage Evolution creates a few more feet of length and retains much more energy, creating a very angular reaction. The new Primal Rage Evolution fits between my Raptor Rush and Supra GT.

    I love this ball and plan to keep both versions in my arsenal for years to come!
