Designed for lighter oil conditions, the Thrill™ provides length and control when lanes are dry and friction is high.

Featuring the new Flux™ weight block, the Thrill™ has a higher RG to delay ball reaction and create the length needed on light oil patterns.  It also has a very low differential to minimize track flare and provide ball motion control at the backend of the lane.

The new Agility XP (Striking Precision) Reactive cover stock on the Thrill™ complements the performance attributes of the Flux™ weight block making it ideal for dry lanes.  Both the Wine/Magenta Pearl and the Blue/Purple Pearl Thrill balls feature a 5500 Grit LSP surface finish.

The Thrill is available at an incredibly attractive price point, but it’s not just a great option for bowlers buying their first ball.  We’ve been very intentional about designing a piece that higher rev competitive bowlers will appreciate because it pushes further down the lane before making a move on dry lanes.

    Motiv Thrill

After throwing the Thrill on “Summer League” patterns for the past 4 weeks, I think I have found my go to ball for the desert. It is the cleanest and smoothest ball in the Motiv lineup in my opinion. I have found that the Thrill is cleaner, smoother, and about 5 boards weaker than an identically drilled Hydra. This allows me to chase inside with the Hydra and then ball down and stay in the same zone when the Hydra starts to become too angular. Through testing, I hit the surface with a fresh 1000 and then followed with a worn 2000. This gave the ball more of a matte finish. When testing this surface, I had a ball that would follow right below the Venom Shock. Still cleaner than a Shock, but within 3 boards overall. The Thrill is a very versatile ball with a very economical price.

    Review:

The Motiv Thrill is the latest release from Motiv Bowling in our entry level performance. You want bang for your buck then look no further than the new Thrill. The Thrill is designed to provide length and control on the lanes when lanes become higher friction on light oil conditions. The Thrill features the new Flux weight block and combined it with new Agility XP reactive cover stock which gives the Thrill a higher RG to give it delayed ball reaction and length as lanes break down and are hooking. Comments:

To be perfectly honest the Thrill has been a godsend for me this last month and a half of the bowling season. The Forge and Recoil have been great pieces in my bag and have brought me lots of success. I was still missing something considering that my league nights I bowl on higher friction conditions, and the Thrill was that piece. I can play straighter and not move much on the lanes and can strike at will. Overall I’ve already had 3 300 games and 5 800 series in 3 different houses. This is most definitely the best entry level ball I have ever thrown. Higher rev players will love the Thrill because you can play straighter and not worry about the lanes hooking too much and get in trouble because it’s so clean. Medium to lower rev players will like this piece because it is super clean and they can play in their wheel house all day or use this when lanes are scorched and not have to move much.

Likes: Delayed reaction; Incredible length; continuation through the pins.

    Dislikes: None.

I recommend this bowling ball for all types of bowlers.

    For the Thrill of it!

The Thrill is made for when front part of the lane is drying up and you need something that is going to get down the lane, store energy, and give you a controllable motion on the backend. The new Flux weight block has a high RG to create that length and a low differential to give you predictable backend hook. These specs combined with the new Agility XP cover stock compliment each other well making it a great ball for dry lanes. Also, this ball comes in Wine/Magenta pearl and Blue/Purple pearl colors which looks great going down the lane!

    Motiv Thrill Review:

The Thrill is Motiv’s new low end piece. Even though it’s low end, this ball still offers a ton of motion and versatility at its price point. I ended up drilling both Red and Blue Thrills with two different layouts, and they both made a spot in the bag. I used a 5.5" layout on the Blue one, and it lets me open up the lanes but not get too flippy when they start to burn up. I end up throwing it on most house patterns. The Red one I used a 1" layout and it lets me start with straighter angles and follow it left. Both balls compliment each other really well. The Thrill is a great piece if you bowl on a lot of friction or are a rev dominant player! So be sure to check it out!

    Kickstart Your Game

    Layout:
    65 x 4” x 35

Need more kick than urethane on lighter conditions but need the reactive to be controllable? Kickstart your game with the new Thrill. Sporting two new technologies for MOTIV, this ball brings a great balance between light oil performance and controlling the breakpoint. Agility XP Reactive (55000 LSP) is a fine-tuned cover for those light and burned conditions that allows the ball to clear fronts and mids well so that it can take advantage of the fiction downlane rather than bleeding it early. The Flux weight block (2.57RG, .015 Diff) was designed to help the ball get down the lane but still create a stable motion once it makes its move towards the pins. Though I have a higher-than-average rev rate, I gave myself a stronger pin-to-PAP layout so that I could take advantage of the Thrill’s versatility. The first true test I had for my Wine/Magenta version was on day-after, leftover league conditions. I was pleasantly surprised by the range of motion I had in playing on these conditions with this ball. To start I played as close to the friction as I could, which by that time was crossing around 20 but not swinging through the dirt. The Thrill cleared the fronts easily then read that early burned friction without immediately jumping. What this allowed me to do was play a mid-lane hook reaction that still left pop at the breakpoint for continuation through the pins. No one else I was practicing with could come close to that line with anything they had. After I felt comfortable with seeing the ball do that, I then jumped more than an arrow left and tried swinging to the friction. Whereas shots before the ball read the mids and smoothly controlled its reaction to the pocket, this new line let the ball glide down to the breakpoint before making a strong change of direction towards the 1-3. While still not jumpy, being able to play such a deep angle with a smooth motion to the pocket would be quite fortuitous had I been bowling for score later in a long tournament block. For comparison, my Hydra would get cleanly down the lane as well but would jump significantly harder at the spot; this equated to almost a full arrow’s worth of move for me. Whether you need a lighter-condition piece, or you’re looking to give someone their first reactive ball, the Thrill is a good ball to want.
