The Venom line is getting a power upgrade with the new Venom Recoil. This is the first asymmetric Venom ever released by MOTIV and it features the new Gear APG (Asymmetric Performance Gain) weight block.

Because the balance-hole rule has changed, MOTIV created the asymmetric Gear APG weight block to give ball drillers more layout versatility when no balance-hole is used.

The original Venom Shock provides incredible performance at a very affordable price and this new asymmetric Venom Recoil is no different. This ball offers massive value!

Great for low rev and heavy oil

An excellent ball on heavy conditions for high rev players. Low rev players can learn its lines well and carry pins like no tomorrow. High rev players will not find much use of this ball on house patterns but will find it an excellent asset on sport shots.

    The Real Benchmark Ball

The Recoil receives my highest praise for all Motiv Balls due to it’s versatility. The ball is extremely smooth front to back and in my eyes offers more control to friction than the Shock. It creates a long hook phase without burning out the roll phase.

I fear many bowler will over look this one in time due to it’s placement on the chart being so close to the Shock. Others may pass on it because the ball doesn’t need to cover a lot of boards to do the job. My advice is to temper the need to pickup the newest, biggest, strongest hooking ball out there and give this gem a try before it’s too late.

City Tournament handicap A/E winning ball ( using 216 average)

First off, this is season 3 using the same Venom Recoil. I absolutely love rolling this ball! It has a great skid, hook, roll and continues threw the pins aggressively and is great at clearing out the corners. I have resurfaced this ball on a spinner several times to factory spec, and tweeked the surface for some tournaments with great success doing so. I would consider this ball as my benchmark piece that is always first ball out of the bag on league night and when I am unsure of the pattern.

I am not the most consistent or best bowler, but the Recoil has definitely made me look better than I am. It has a great surface the gives me a little wiggle room so my slight misses still have a chance. It allows me to progress left as the lanes break down and still comes around the corner. The last 2 weeks of league I felt like I had so much room with this ball throwing a 722, and a 710. This from a guy who usually only throws a couple 700 series a season, and we are only 3 weeks in, I felt compelled to write a review.

I have thrown and own alot of Motiv balls, and this is by far the best piece in my arsenal.

2020 Lansing City Open All Events I started game 1 with the original Forge and shot 180, not liking what I was seeing I switched to my Recoil and finished doubles with a 659, singles went 714, and team event went 688 using the Recoil for all 8 remaining games on a very challenging pattern.

    Simply awesome!

Another winner from Motiv! With the Venom line being so popular and still going strong, why not make a Venom asymmetrical ball? I’m glad Motiv did. This ball drives though the pins just like the Venom Shock! I drilled mine 40x4.50x20 and kept it at box finish for now and it lives up to the Venom name! It fits great in the line and very affordable asymmetrical ball too! If you are looking for an asymmetrical ball without breaking the bank go with the Venom Recoil!

    Sport Oil Crusher

One of the most interesting and dominant balls I’ve ever used on sport oil. Averages on short to medium oil 230+ and my first and second 300’s on sport oil. The ball is clean in the front and deadly in the back. Easy to read movement and the asym idea behind is mind blowing. I recommend this to anybody looking for an deadly sport oil piece!
